NORTH TEXAS — Hail, and plenty of it, fell across North Texas Wednesday as a storm tracked through Wise, Denton, and Tarrant counties. The storm produced damaging straight-line winds along with hail up to ping pong ball size, leaving a swath of impacts across the region.
Hail Swath Stretches From Bridgeport Through Northlake
The hail swath, tracked over a six-hour period ending around 7:30 p.m., stretched from near Bridgeport and Paradise southeast through Rhome, Justin, and Northlake. Hail up to 1.6 inches in diameter, equivalent to ping pong ball size, was reported near this corridor.
Communities including Boyd, Briar, and Ponder also fell within the path of the hail-producing storm, with reported hail sizes ranging from 1.5 to 1.6 inches across the swath.
Additional Hail Reported Near Roanoke and Keller
Farther southeast, another pocket of 1.5 inch hail was reported near Roanoke and Haslet, indicating the storm maintained its intensity as it continued tracking through Denton and into Tarrant County. Communities including Keller and Justin were within reach of this portion of the storm’s path.
