ARLINGTON, TX — A married Arlington couple who were widely recognized in the bowling community were killed in a five-vehicle crash on a Texas highway, according to police. Investigators said the collision began when one driver crossed the center line and struck a semitruck head on.
The crash also involved three additional vehicles and left four other people hurt. Police said the couple’s deaths have drawn attention because of their long-standing ties to bowling circles beyond North Texas.

Police said the wreck unfolded as a chain reaction after the initial head-on impact. In all, five vehicles were involved, making it one of the more severe collisions in the area in recent memory.
