March 3, 1975, was a most memorable night at the Tarrant County Convention Center (now the Fort Worth Convention Center). A few weeks earlier, we had gone to a Boz Scaggs concert billed as a unique black-tie event. We were so out of place in T-shirts and jeans, we decided to go all out for the next concert: a long white dress, white hat, heels, white tuxedo, top hat and cane.
That show was Led Zeppelin. Turned out we were the only ones dressed up. Folks thought we were VIPs and would part as we walked the corridors and to our seats.
We saw a lot of concerts at the convention center: Willie Nelson, Paul McCartney, ZZ Top, Neil Diamond, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Grand Funk Railroad.
