Sabine Parish – On Friday, September 11, 2026, at approximately 1:59 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 191 near Alvin Curtis Road. This crash claimed the life of 32-year-oldCarlos N. Coba Melendez of Arlington, TX.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2007 Hino box truck, driven by Melendez, was southbound on Louisiana Highway 191. For reasons still under investigation, Melendez’s vehicle left the roadway, over-corrected, then overturned.
Melendez, who was restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. A passenger, who was not restrained, sustained no injuries. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis…
