Charter Next Generation (CNG), a producer of specialty films and material science solutions, has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the Texas Workforce Commission announcing the closure of its blown film facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. The company will close the plant, which it has been operating since July, on November 30, 2026. Fifty-six employees will be impacted.
CNG, headquartered in Chicago, operates 17 manufacturing facilities at 12 locations across the US, mostly concentrated in the Midwest. In an email, the company said it was moving production from Grand Prairie to other CNG locations.
“We spoke directly with Grand Prairie employees about the decision and what it means for them,” the company said. “The facility will continue operating during the transition, with production currently planned through December 18, 2026. Our immediate focus is supporting affected employees, serving our customers, and maintaining a safe, orderly transition.
