A fatal shootout last year that claimed the life of a single mother visiting town from Chicago happened after one of the alleged shooters made a pass at a woman dancing on a busy Bourbon Street corner.
Dontrell Bradley, 20, was shot four times during the Sept. 28, 2025 melee in the 200 block of Bourbon. When he returned fire at his alleged shooter, Mekhi Jarius Andry, one of the bullets struck Jessica Williams in the back. The 33-year-old mother of two was in New Orleans with family to celebrate her birthday.
She and her sister were walking back to her hotel room as Bradley and Andry traded volleys of gunfire. Williams fell and died on Bourbon Street…
