Haltom City announced the death of Mayor An Truong on Friday afternoon. Truong, who became the first Vietnamese American mayor in Tarrant County when he was elected in 2019, was 78.
The city said in a news release that Truong died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.
Truong began his career with the Fort Worth Police Department and spent 37 years as an investigator with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. He also served on the Haltom City Council before being elected mayor…
