A new seafood restaurant has opened at the Kozy Hotel in Bedford, serving up seafood pasta, steaks, and cocktails to hotel guests and walk-in diners alike. The Anchor Room sits attached to the hotel at 3005 Airport Fwy. but operates with its own separate entrance, giving it the feel of a standalone restaurant rather than just another hotel dining room.
The restaurant comes from Blain Bastow, who also owns Quickie Crab Cajun Seafood Kitchen in Lewisville with his wife, Thanh Tran Bastow, according to CultureMap Fort Worth. Bastow describes the new spot as designed to be a more refined dining experience, a step up from the casual Cajun seafood shack he and his wife run elsewhere in the metroplex. On its own site, The Anchor Room bills itself as a coastal-inspired dining experience built around seafood and handcrafted pastas.
What’s on the Menu
The food leans heavily into seafood and comfort, with dishes like seafood pasta loaded with shrimp, crawfish, and crab, plus shrimp and grits and spiced redfish served over yellow fried rice. Other options include crab cakes, chicken meatballs over fettuccine, salt and pepper chicken wings, a Cobb salad, and beef short rib with garlic mashed potatoes, per the same account. For those wanting something heartier, there’s a steak frites featuring a 12-ounce New York strip served with truffle fries.
Prices span a wide range, running from $16 for the shrimp and grits up to $36 for the steak frites. The restaurant also runs a full bar program with cocktails, beer on tap, and a wine selection, including a spicy watermelon margarita on the drink list. The Anchor Room reportedly lists dine-in hours daily from 11 am to 10 pm, with room service available daily from 11 am to 9:30 pm, according to a Facebook listing cited in the report.
A Former Holiday Inn Gets a New Identity
The Kozy Hotel itself is part of a broader rebranding effort. Kozy is a hotel brand from Kapstones, a Florida-based private equity and real estate investment firm, which opened the Bedford location in May 2026 inside a former Holiday Inn. The property sits roughly seven miles from DFW Airport, per CultureMap’s reporting, though Kapstones’ own project page describes the site as six miles from the airport — a discrepancy the two sources don’t reconcile…
