Second stabbing, murder suspect in custody in Tarrant Co.

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The second woman who is allegedly involved in the stabbing and death of Jermaine Johnson is currently in custody in Tarrant County.

Shevetra Mathis was taken into custody on December 27, 2023, by the San Angelo Police and transported to Tarrant County for a previous charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon on January 3, according to records filed in Tom Green County.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Mathis regarding the stabbing and murder of Johnson on January 4.

Mathis is currently in custody in Tarrant County with a bond set at $502,000.
