Cowboys vs. Eagles rivalry reaches new levels of drama with latest news

The Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles just got much more interesting days into the 2024 NFL offseason (at least for both teams it’s the offseason after early playoff exits) as the latter made a major coaching decision on Saturday night.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles are hiring former Cowboys quarterback and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to coach their offense.

It’s a major piece of news as the Eagles seek to revamp a coaching staff that massively underwhelmed in 2023 and led to the parting of ways with both coordinators, Brian Johnson and Sean Desai.

This means that for the second year in a row, the Eagles will be working with a brand new duo of coordinators after losing Shane Steichen (Colts HC) and Johnathan Gannon (Cardinals HC) following their 2022 Super Bowl run.

This time though, things bode much better for Philly as the replacements are two proven coordinators in Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore.

The hiring of Moore in Philly will lead to a whole new level of NFC East drama. Not only did the Cowboys let Moore go after 2022 but the offensive playcaller who replaced him, Mike McCarthy, is still around in Dallas as he’s set to return on a contract year.
