Man jailed in a Dallas crash that killed a woman in Pleasant Grove

A man is behind bars in Dallas, charged with causing a collision resulting in death.

Last week, a woman named Maria Guerrero died when a speeding SUV crashed into her car as she was stopped at a red light in Pleasant Grove.

Police say Billy Williamson was speeding in his SUV when it crashed into the pole holding a stop light and then rebounded into Guerrero’s car. The driver, who was not yet identified, ran for it leaving Guerrero to die.

A few hours later, a 911 call comes in from a man who claimed he was carjacked at gunpoint and his SUV was stolen. Police met the caller at a gas station. When officers noticed that Williamson matched the description of the SUV driver, who has a rather distinctive beard, and when it was determined Williamson’s SUV was the one left at the crash scene, he was handcuffed and hauled to jail.
