Man faces murder charge in connection to deadly Fort Worth shooting

A man is behind bars in connection to a deadly shooting in Fort Worth on Monday, police say.

Samuel Campos was shot in the head on Northwest 16th Street on Fort Worth’s North Side, police said. They said the suspect, Hernaldo Gonzales, had a history of shooting people in the head.

Police said witnesses told them they saw him running from the scene. Campos’ cousin identified the shooter as a man with the nickname “Bam Bam.”

Police linked that name to Gonzales who is believed to be the gunman seen in neighborhood video arriving at and leaving the scene. Police tracked Gonzales down and he’s now in jail on a murder charge.

He’s also up on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the simultaneous shooting of a man who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
