Many people in the North Texas region may see a dusting of wet snow on Monday morning.
However, the National Weather Service says the snow will melt by the afternoon as temperatures rise to the 50s. According to Fort Worth meteorologist Hunter Reeves, the worst-case scenario will be a pretty sight to wake up to in the morning. Minor accumulations may be on the grass, but the roads will be clear for the morning commute.
Areas north and northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth, along and north of a Cisco-Jacksboro-Gainesville line, have a 40%-50% chance of seeing a trace of snow. There’s even a lower probability that they’ll see up to three-tenths of an inch of accumulation. Most of the slush, if it sticks, will predominantly stay on grassy and elevated surfaces.
According to the NWS forecast, the Metroplex can expect colder temperatures and gusty winds of up to 30 mph once this system moves out of the region. The next round of rain will not return to the area until next Friday and into the weekend, bringing seasonably cooler temperatures.
