Bedford horse activates fire alarm; he ‘refused to answer any questions’

BEDFORD (1080 KRLD)- Bedford firefighters say “someone” was horsing around and pulled the fire alarm at a horse farm on Guard Hill Road.

The “someone” turned out to be Jax, an actual horse who is boarded at the farm. Fire crews responded to an alarm that was generated by what’s known as a “pull station.” But arriving at the location, they found no fire at all.

Checking around, they found the “pull station” outside Jax’s stall and it was in the down — or activated — position. Apparently, Jax was able to reach around with his teeth and bite down on the alarm, setting it off.

Based on his right to remain silent, firefighters say Jax “…refused to answer any questions at the scene.”
