Interstate ‘chop shop’ operation busted in Fort Worth

What started off as police getting a report about a man jumping a fence ends in two arrests, and the discovery of a major chop shop in Fort Worth.

Police discovered the man whom 9-1-1 callers had been reporting was found running from the scene, he was running from police.

Once they detained the suspect and found his brother a couple of blocks away, they were then both arrested for outstanding traffic ticket warrants.

Fort Worth investigators were able to link the men to a stolen car with copper wire inside that AT&T had reported stolen. Officers also found evidence confirming the identity of the two occupants along with their address. That led to a search warrant at a location in the 2800 block of NW 28TH St.

At the location, police found 15 stolen cars, motorcycles, ATVs, two cargo trailers full of stolen tools and construction equipment along with brand new rims and tires, one car hauler, a mechanical bull, and miscellaneous property worth thousands of dollars.
