GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The first drowning at Joe Pool Lake in 2024 happened on Sunday afternoon. The Grand Prairie Fire Department was called at about 5:37 p.m. Sunday to a report of a possible drowning at the Lake, officials said. A witness told them the victim had been seen swimming near the swim beach area, but didn’t resurface.
