Authorities arrested a 38-year-old man on Thursday and charged him with aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.
Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez was listed as No. 1 on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) “10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List,” according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Texas DPS said Gonzalez has prior arrests for driving while intoxicated with a child uner 15 years old, assault causing bodily injury to a family member, and failure to identify.
Last year, Arlington police issued warrants for his arrest for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact, Texas DPS said.
DPS said Gonzalez left the U.S. in 2016 but returned in 2021 and has ties to Pantego and Arlington.
