Pool Journey: From Dream to Reality

Not the kind synonymous with Billiards

Today is the first day of my pool build. I contracted with a pool company last April. A week or so later, I had paid $39,500 for an $87.000 project.

You can have a pool built for less, but I included all the bells and whistles, including a cabana, a heater for year-round swimming, and a waterfall. I am also using a top-of-the-line material—Gunite which is like concrete.

I put a lot of value in having my private pool. The health benefits alone make it worth it. The waterfall I am including should be great for relaxation.

Motivation to exercise is difficult in the Texas triple-degree summer heat. Motivation is not easy in the Texas winter, either. Experience has shown that swimming is something I can stay motivated with.

April passed, then May passed, yet there was no progress on my pool. I ignored the obvious, instead explaining things using the “I am a victim, set of excuses.” It wasn’t pleasing to look up the Better Business Bureau rating of the company I contracted with.
