Two games into the season, it’s clear the addition of Eric Kendricks was a game-changer for the Cowboys. His experience and leadership are already paying off, especially with a young linebacker group. Of course, with Week 3 approaching and the Cowboys looking to redeem themselves after a tough loss, maybe the veteran linebacker is exactly what the doctor prescribed to get this ball rolling again.
Eric Kendricks Energizes Cowboy’s Defense
The Cowboys didn’t exactly bring in many free agents, but they got a heck of one in Kendricks. He was a 49ers guy, at least until he flipped his decision on that one in the flip of a second and decided instead to give Dallas a shot. Perhaps this was partly because of his relationship with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
Eric Kendricks steps onto the field with confidence, and the stats speak to that as well—17 tackles, two sacks, and one interception. But it’s really when tough decisions are made that he shines in terms of leadership.
It is perhaps refreshing how Eric Kendricks has taken on the mentoring role with him. He’s a bright spot for the young linebackers who look up to him and is anxious to share his knowledge.
