DFW Airport to break ground on sixth terminal

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport will break ground Tuesday on a new terminal as part of efforts to address what its chief executive described as “unprecedented growth.”

Terminal F, the airport’s sixth terminal, will be built on the site currently used for express parking across from Terminal E. The project is a collaboration between DFW Airport and American Airlines, which signed a 10-year lease to support the construction of Terminal F and upgrades to Terminal C.

The new terminal will span 400,000 square feet and feature 15 gates. It is expected to open in 2027 and will be connected to the Skylink system, offering travelers access to shops, restaurants, and amenities similar to those in other terminals.

DFW Airport, one of the busiest in the world, is investing in expansion to accommodate increasing passenger demand and maintain its position as a key transportation hub.
