Man accused of entering country illegally charged in drunk driving incident that sent 6 to hospital

A man suspected of being in the country illegally has been indicted on 6 charges from an August drunk driving accident.

21-year-old Jose Castro is accused of five charges of being in an accident involving an injury and one count of intoxication assault with serious bodily injury.

On September 28th, police say Castro became enraged at a driver while he was on Ledbetter near Hampton. He began to drive around a driver who he thought had brake-checked him. In doing so, he blasted through a red light at 60 miles an hour hitting an SUV and sending 6 people to the hospital. One had been ejected from the SUV.

He ran from the scene and police had to use a dog to track him down. Immigration agents have a hold on Castro saying he is in the country illegally.
