DALLAS – If you are in the month-to-month struggle to keep up with your rent payment, it may be hard to believe this, but many Texans are seeing some rent relief. Apartmentlist.com looked at all of last year and a good chunk of this year and found rents down in many of the big Texas metros. From January 2023 through September 2024, they noted that Houston rents had ticked up by an average of +.2%. But in that same time frame, they saw average rent decreases of -1.2% for the Dallas metro, -2.4% in the San Antonio area, and a more substantial -8.1% in the Austin market.
