A horse was stuck in a cattle guard early Friday morning, and the Fort Worth Fire Department went straight to work to free him.
At 5:30 a.m., the Fort Worth FD was called by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office to help free the horse on Alta Vista Road. When the fire department arrived, the TCSO sedated the horse to keep him safe. For 45 minutes, Rescue 38’s crew cut the spread of the cattle guard to free the three legs that were stuck.
Officials used a skid steer to help the horse stand up. The horse was able to stand on its own and was safely loaded back on the trailer. No major injuries were reported to the horse.
Officials said they transported the horse to a nearby vet to get the proper treatment.
