On Sunday, December 29, a high-speed chase initiated by Parker County Sheriff’s deputies ended in a crash and the arrest of 19-year-old Shay Martin Gilbert. The incident began shortly after 8 p.m. when deputies attempted to stop a 2015 white Ford Mustang in the 1300-Block of Northwest Parkway for an improperly displayed buyer’s tag. Gilbert, the driver, failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens, leading deputies on a pursuit through Parker County into Tarrant County.
