TCU safeties coach Paul Gonzales headed to Baylor

TCU has lost a key member of their coaching staff as multiple reports indicate safeties coach Paul Gonzales is headed to Big 12 rival Baylor. Reports indicate Gonzales is going to coach the Bears cornerbacks and will be the defensive passing game coordinator. Gonzales is no longer listed on the coaching staff on TCU’s roster on GoFrogs.com.

Gonzales spent the past seven seasons coaching the Frogs’ safeties unit. Six of his former players have reached the NFL, including Trevon Moehrig, who was a second round pick and winner of the 2020 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award.

Gonzales has also coached several players that have received All-Big 12 honors including Bud Clark, Millard Bradford, Mark Perry, Ar’Darius Washington, Vernon Scott, Innis Gaines, Ridwan Issahaku, and Abe Camara…
