DOGE’s Texas Lease Cuts: Agency-by-Agency Breakdown

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is combing through thousands and thousands of federal government contracts looking for ways to save money. The agency claims to have saved more than 100 billion dollars as they try to find waste an inefficiency. The cutting has started and Texas is one of the states that could be hit hard.

One of the primary projects DOGE is working on right now is cancelling leases for government offices. This does not necessarily mean these agencies are closing, but many agencies will be moving into more efficient office spaces. Hundreds of government leases have been cancelled. These moves will save billions of dollars. But so far, DOGE has not outlined where each of these agencies will be relocated.

In Texas, there are more than 35 federal leases that have been cancelled by DOGE and this list is growing every day. The savings from trimming these Texas leases totals more than $7 million dollars. Workers in these offices are being informed that they will be relocating as soon as the current leases expire…
