DALLAS — Nolan Estes, a former Dallas ISD superintendent who desegregated the district, has died, officials confirmed.
Estes, who served as Dallas ISD’s superintendent from 1968 to 1978, died, according to a social media post from Dallas ISD. He is known for desegregating the district and establishing a network of magnet schools, charter schools and early childhood centers.
