Police investigating after traffic stop ended in driver sustaining fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound in River Oaks, police say

RIVER OAKS, Texas — Police are investigating after they say a traffic stop ended with a driver sustaining a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday in River Oaks in Tarrant County.

River Oaks Police said officers initiated a traffic stop in the 5300 block of River Oaks Boulevard (State Highway 183) around 12:30 p.m., and the 43-year-old male driver produced a handgun and sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An officer also fired his weapon during the incident, but didn’t hit the driver, police say…
