South Arlington could be getting a new package liquor store after the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 6-3 May 7 in favor of a zoning change that would allow a property owner to convert part of an existing building for that use.
Commissioners Robert Blake Jr., Derek Carter and Ronald Maddox voted against the zoning change. The change is expected to go before the City Council on May 27.
Wiley resident Surinder Becker and his family are the owners of the property at 721 SW Green Oaks Blvd., near the intersection of Green Oaks Boulevard and Matlock Road.
