Grand Prairie police charge 26-year-old gang member with murder during police chase

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Grand Prairie police arrested a documented gang member early Saturday morning and charged him with murder after he reportedly crashed into another car, killing the driver, during a police chase, officials say.

An officer was patrolling at about 1:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Main Street when he saw a Chevrolet Camaro, according to police. That Camaro, upon seeing the officer, reportedly slowed down and started changing lanes and turning to try and lose him.

Believing the Camaro to be stolen, police say the officer tried to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation. After pulling into a parking lot, the suspect immediately fled as the officer started exiting his car. This lead to a pursuit down eastbound I-30…
