As the City of Arlington continues to tout its status as “The American Dream City,” a new pickleball court at ACTIV is serving as a hotspot for joy and engagement among older adults. Located at 2061 W. Green Oaks Blvd, ACTIV is a modern recreation center specifically designed for the 50+ crowd, providing various facilities such as a gymnasium, pool, fitness area, walking tracks, and now, pickleball courts.
Dedicated to creating a dynamic environment for its members, ACTIV has rolled out the welcome mat with four indoor courts that lie within the gymnasium, perfect for weatherproof play. Alongside the patio in Centennial Park, nestled among six outdoor courts open to the public, is a walking trail that invites camaraderie and competition. According to the City of Arlington, Mayor Jim Ross personally tested the courts, saying, “If I can get out here and do this, anybody can get out here and do this.”
