The Dallas Police Department’s Facebook post marks the anniversary of the fatal incident, stating, “On May 24, 1892, Officer Cassee Brewer, 42, was killed while trying to arrest a man at Union Depot Station.” According to the post, as Officer Brewer approached the suspect, he was fatally shot.
