DALLAS, Texas — A 28-year-old Austin man has been sentenced to life in federal prison for the kidnapping and murder of a 25-year-old army veteran, according to the Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.
Naasson Hazzard was convicted in January and sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay.
Hazzard was indicted in October 2024 on federal charges of kidnapping resulting in death, which carried a mandatory life sentence. The victim, who entered the military immediately after high school, was honored with full military rites at her funeral, as revealed during the sentencing hearing…
