Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” will not lead this year’s Walk for Freedom in Fort Worth, her granddaughter said Tuesday night.
Lee, 98, fought to get Juneteenth recognized as an official holiday. This is the first time she will not lead the walk.
