Stolen Car Chase from Irving Ends in Dallas Crash; Owner Left Vehicle Running While Using Restroom

Irving Police officers arrested Rayshun Earl Mims, 20, on Saturday, June 21st, following a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash in Dallas. Mims faces multiple felony charges, including auto theft and evading arrest.

The incident began when officers responded to an auto theft report in the 1200 block of Executive Circle, at the intersection with West Walnut Hill Lane. The victim had left his black Nissan Altima, valued at approximately $27,000 and bearing a handicap plate, running while he briefly went inside to use the bathroom. A male suspect, later identified as Mims, and a female passenger then entered the vehicle and drove away.

An Irving officer, canvassing the area of eastbound Highway 114 south of the O’Connor Road exit, spotted the stolen Altima approaching at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a pursuit, observing the vehicle intentionally trying to evade.
