A Tarrant County jury has found 42-year-old Shawn Lee McFarlane guilty of Aggravated Assault against a family member and sentenced him to life in prison.
The conviction stems from a violent attack that occurred on June 2, 2023, when McFarlane assaulted a female family member after she refused to give him money. According to prosecutors, McFarlane beat the woman over the course of several hours inside her home, slamming her face into the floor, tying her with zip ties, and strangling her until she lost consciousness.
