A Dallas County jury has found 42-year-old Brodrick Benton guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and sentenced him to 24 years in prison following a high-impact crash at a red light on Jim Miller and Scyene Roads.
According to investigators, Benton was under the influence of PCP and cocaine when he drove into a line of cars stopped at the intersection. The first vehicle struck was a Dodge Challenger. The male driver suffered catastrophic injuries, leaving him permanently triplegic and unable to speak for nearly three years following the crash.
