I’m not sure if you’ve ever had a moment where your home—your safe space—suddenly didn’t feel safe anymore. That’s exactly what happened on Prairie Wind Trail in Fort Worth. A 15-year-old girl was shot in what police believe may have been a home invasion on a quiet Wednesday night.
She was inside her home around 9 p.m. when a group—described by police as young men, possibly teens to young adults—showed up. Things escalated fast. There was an argument, then gunfire. One bullet hit the girl in the hip. She also may have been pistol-whipped, according to reports. She was rushed to the hospital, and thankfully, her injuries weren’t life-threatening.
