Man accused of deadly Abilene shooting turns himself in to Irving police

ABILENE, Texas — Police have arrested the man accused of killing 21-year-old Blessed Alifi Zola.

According to the Abilene Police Department, 31-year-old Christopher Whittington turned himself in to the Irving Police Department around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Whittington is accused of shooting and killing Zola at the Maison Blanche apartment complex in Abilene Monday evening.

Officers were called to the scene Monday around 5:30 p.m. and discovered Zola unresponsive in the street.

Whittington fled the scene and turned himself in to authorities in Irving for the Taylor County warrant…
