Baton Rouge man sentenced to 70 years after killing girlfriend in 2020

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man was sentenced to 70 years Wednesday after pleading guilty to charges in connection with the stabbing death of his girlfriend in 2020.

Court documents showed that Connor Regan, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter and two counts of obstruction of justice in a plea agreement. He was sentenced to serve 40 years for the manslaughter charge and 15 years for each obstruction of justice count. Regan was originally charged with second-degree murder before taking the plea deal.
