Fort Worth man sentenced to life for cousin’s murder

A Fort Worth man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being found guilty of capital murder in the shooting death of his cousin.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office said 25-year-old Jacoby Roberts set up a fake drug deal to lure his cousin, 25-year-old Jailon Freeman, out of his apartment and then shot him in the back of the head.

After the shooting, prosecutors said Roberts grabbed a bag of cocaine and Freeman’s gun and ran. Prosecutors said Roberts believed his cousin owed him money from other drug deals and set up the fake drug deal with two other men…
