Interim FWPD chief says it’s ‘very encouraging’ crime is down 13% compared to a year ago

Fort Worth Police say there are some encouraging numbers when it comes to fighting crime in the city.

“Whenever you can see a drop in our violent crime, that is very, very encouraging, because then it makes our citizens feel safe,” said interim Fort Worth Police Chief Robert Alldredge.

Alldredge said the decline shows the city’s violent crime initiative is working. Compared to this time last year, Fort Worth crime is down 13% and down 14% compared to the first quarter of the year…
