I can’t imagine any of us wanting to live in a world with less barbecue, but that seems to be the trend lately. Every few weeks, like clockwork, another barbecue restaurant or smokehouse posts on Facebook and Instagram that it’s closing soon.
With that, we must inform smoked meat enthusiasts across Texas that Fort Worth’s beloved Brix Barbecue will be closing its doors in August. A full message was posted on Facebook Tuesday.
“Our last day of regular service at Brix Barbecue will be Sunday August 17th,” read the note written by Brix Barbecue owner and pitmaster Trevor Sales. “We have been blessed with serving the Fort Worth community and beyond since starting in my backyard in 2017. I thank you all, dearly.”
Sales shouted out his brother Jeremiah and his staff over the years. He also told fans that Brix is bringing back some old favorites for the restaurant’s last three weeks, including its Funkytown Hot Chicken Sandwich.
