IRVING, TX – Irving Police have arrested Maynor Alexander Quintanilla, 32, on charges of Domestic Violence – Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, following an incident where he allegedly threatened his common-law spouse with a gun. His mother, Bertha Lydia Quintanilla, 50, was also arrested and charged with Interfering with Public Duties for attempting to prevent her son’s arrest. Both individuals are being held by INS-Dallas/Fort Worth as illegal aliens.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, at approximately 10:17 p.m., when an Irving Police officer responded to an unknown call for service at The Crossing at Irving Apartments in the 1900 block of Estrada Parkway. The officer found a female victim in the apartment where the 911 call originated. She was hysterically crying. After being calmed, she reported that her common-law spouse and the father of her children, Maynor Quintanilla, had pointed a loaded gun at her during an argument.
The victim stated that Quintanilla threatened to kill her, and that she saw him rack the gun, causing two bullets to be ejected. Terrified, she was able to run out of the apartment and call 911.
