The City of Arlington has nabbed a top award for its procurement practices, the latest sign that taxpayer dollars are being spent with an eye for excellence. Recognized with the 2025 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) by the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI), Arlington joins the ranks of a select 216 agencies across the U.S. and Canada, and is one of just 85 cities to be so honored.
Arlington’s Office of Procurement, though staffed by a lean team of just eight, evidently punches far above its weight. “This prestigious recognition honors our organization’s dedication to procurement excellence and reflects our commitment to innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership,” said William Velasco, Procurement Manager, as per the City of Arlington.
