‘Make Austin holy’: Controversial DFW church announces expansion

A video posted on Mercy Culture Church’s Instagram account last month showed images of a Pride flag, members of a United Methodist Church holding a sign that read, “All are welcome,” and a pastor wearing rainbow colors symbolizing the LGBTQ community.

But the message accompanying the images wasn’t celebrating inclusion. Instead, Seth Morrow, a pastor at the non-denominational megachurch based in Fort Worth, had a different take on the photos: “Where the culture has declared, ‘Keep Austin weird,’ we are praying: ‘Make Austin holy!”

In the next frame, Seth and his wife, Kaily, announced that they’ve been named the lead pastors of the newly established Mercy Culture Austin. Kaily shared she and Seth are excited to launch the new campus in the Texas capital…
