H-E-B is investing in a new facility that is expected to provide support as it grows its footprint in North Texas.
The Texas grocer’s “project roadrunner” in Fort Worth will be a 139,000-square-foot general warehouse and storage space. In a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the scope of work is described as a “First Generation Tenant Finish” with a $20 million estimated cost.
Construction on the warehouse arrives as H-E-B carries out a significant expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, gaining strong market share even as shoppers have options such as Whole Foods or Kroger. After bringing its first namesake store in the area with the 2022 opening of a Frisco H-E-B, The grocer has opened stores in Cowtown and Prosper, and is planning to open others in Dallas and Aledo.
