Arlington Embarks on Major Water and Sewer Infrastructure Overhaul Near Pleasant Ridge and Bowen Road

Residents around Pleasant Ridge and Bowen Road in Arlington will see some heavy machinery and construction crews as the city embarks on an ambitious overhaul of its water and sewer infrastructure. Partnering with Gra-Tex Utilities, the project aims to replace over two miles of aging pipes beneath South Pleasant Circle and around Mary & Jimmie Hooper Park. The construction will introduce new mains, some expanding from deficient 6-inch diameters to a more robust 8 inches, while others will merely be fresh replacements of the current 15-inch pipes.

A public meeting has been scheduled for Sept. 11, 2025, for those interested in the finer details of this urban renewal. According to an update by the Arlington Water Utilities, this gathering will happen from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library.
