DFW Airport faces hundreds of delays, cancelled flights amid storms

Travelers at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are facing an onslaught of delays and cancellations Friday as the National Weather Service warned of possible scattered storms in the region as a cold front moves south.

Total cancellations at DFW Airport have reached 126 while delays are at 216, according to FlightAware data. With DFW Airport as American Airline’s largest hub in the airline’s global network, the carrier had the highest count of cancellations and delays.

The travel holdups come ahead of what’s sure to be a busy holiday travel weekend for Labor Day. DFW Airport expected to see 1.4 million passengers between Aug. 28 and Sept. 2, and Friday was listed as one of the busiest travel days anticipated.
