The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that 39-year-old Luis Antonio Quintanilla, wanted for the fatal shooting of his partner, 35-year-old Maritza Ferman Sorto, in Gaithersburg on August 31, was arrested in Irving, Texas, and is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
According to MCPD, “On Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at approximately 2:42 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 9000 block of Centerway Road in Gaithersburg.
